The wide receiver position in fantasy football is becoming more important as quarterbacks throw for more yardage. A good sturdy wide receiver is a key.

The NFL kicks off this Thursday September 9th and fantasy football owners stomachs are already churning in anticipation of the first game. The wide receiver position is fast becoming as important as running backs and quarterbacks. Andre Johnson is still the best wide receiver in the NFL but even a monster receiver such as Johnson has games where he must be sat down by fantasy football owners.

Fantasy Football Wide Receivers to Start in Week One of Fantasy Football

Malcom Floyd San Diego Chargers

Vincent Jackson is on his way out and this makes Malcom Floyd the number one wide receiver on the San Diego Chargers. This is if we are not counting Antonio Gates. Floyd is a great receiver with good hands and extraordinary route running skills. It is time for him to be a number one receiver and he will have a big day against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Dez Bryant Dallas Cowboys

Jerry Jones has taken an instant shine to Dez Bryant and he is the indie Wade Phillips ear. Bryant will get targets a minimum of 12 times. What Bryant does with those 12 targets in this game against division rival Washington is up to him. Bryant may not get 120 yards receiving but it won't be for lack of trying.

Randy Moss New England Patriots

Tom Brady is back and so is Randy Moss. Moss is in the last year of his contract and this game against a decent Cincinnati Bengals defense will be a good test. Throw in the fact that Terrell Owens and Chad Ocho Cinco are on the other sideline watching and Moss will have a monster day.

Fantasy Football Wide Receivers to Sit in Week One of Fantasy Football

Anquan Boldin Baltimore Ravens

The New York Jets finally came to terms with Darelle Revis and with Antonio Cromartie on the other side, Boldin won't many passes. Boldin is the number one receiver for the Ravens and Revis will make sure Boldin is closed for business.

Greg Jennings Green Bay Packers

Greg Jennings is the number one receiver for the Green Bay Packers but he will be focused on by the Philadelphia Eagles in this game. Jennings will have a great season so it is a good idea to sit him and set him up for the next week.

Brandon Marshall Miami Dolphins

The Buffalo Bills may not be the greatest team in the NFL but they are tough against the pass. Brandon Marshall will have his work cut out for him to just catch five passes in this game. Look for Marshall to get frustrated early in this game and he will be side tracked. Marshall's worst games are when he has been aggravated.
