Best Fantasy Football Wide Receiver Starts for Week 5 of Fantasy Football
Mark Clayton: St Louis Rams
Who would have thought in the fifth week of fantasy football rookie St Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford and wide receiver Mark Clayton would be one of the best quarterback/wide receiver combos in the NFL? Mark Clayton has moved right into the number one wide receiver spot and is a perfect target for the young Bradford. Mark Clayton is a must start in most fantasy football leagues.
Santonio Holmes: New York Jets
Braylon Edwards of the New York Jets may be seeing less action with Santonio Holmes back in the mix after serving a four game NFL suspension. Holmes is much faster than Braylon Edwards and is a premiere route runner with great hands. This makes Holmes the new number one receiver for the New York Jets. Starting Holmes in his first week back from suspension is a gamble but it is worth picking up major points. Start Santonio Holmes in the fifth week of fantasy football unless there is a better match up with the number two fantasy football receiver.
Anquan Boldin: Baltimore Ravens
Joe Flacco and Anquan Boldin have been hit or miss in fantasy football for the first four weeks but this week is a hit. Boldin is matched up against Champ Bailey who has been dealing with a laundry list of nagging injuries. Start Anquan Boldin over most of the top ten wide receivers in fantasy football this weekend.
Honorable mention: Roddy White: Atlanta Falcons.
Fantasy Football Wide Receivers to Sit in Week 5 of Fantasy Football
Braylon Edwards: New York Jets
Braylon Edwards should see a decline in balls thrown his way with the return of Santonio Holmes. Holmes is the better of the two and will now assume the role of number one receiver. Fantasy football owners of Edwards should be looking to move him ASAP. Sit Braylon Edwards in most situations for fantasy football.
Steve Smith: Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers are listing Steve Smith as questionable but don't buy into their game. Smith will not play this weekend. Smith injured his knee in the early second half of the Carolina Panthers game against the New Orleans Saints and he is already a sure scratch for the Chicago Bears game this weekend. Sit Steve Smith in all fantasy football leagues but keep an eye on the injury reports.
Dwayne Bowe: Kansas City Chiefs
Dwayne Bowe isn't coming out of his funk quite yet. Bowe is still not getting noticed by his quarterback Matt Cassel and the outlook does not look good for his fantasy football owners. Sit Dwayne Bowe for the next couple of weeks in fantasy football leagues but keep an eye on him.
